a lot of the black people who shucked and jived their way to positions of power in this white supremacist nation have internalized racism without realizing it. And people hold them up as examples of success ignorantly. There's nuance to it, but its hard to think a black person is very progressive if they're accepted by a ton of white people. seeing as a lot of people have internalized racism as well but find themselves in positions of power when it comes to whether their validation of another matters or not.
