It's interesting to wonder how much of this is born out of ignorance and the Western focus on demonizing black people in all forms of media and that being the main exposure most international communities have with black people. Because there's a ton of racism in places that don't have that many black people. I would think even the US fits that category, relatively speaking to percentage of the population being black which is 13% last I checked. Sometimes I wonder if black people need to stop seeking the outside validation of a white supremacist society by trying to force our way into certain conversations and media and focus on strengthening the foundation of a collective black identity that is not predicated on white acceptance. When we are so little of the country, I don't know what we should expect.
