I agree with your assessment. The democrats and Republicans are decidedly different on many levels. I don’t necessarily equate them, but I believe that the image the democratic party presents and then the way it wields it’s political clout do not seem to match. I agree that there are many different ways of thinking present within the party and that dilutes the ability of progressives to gain a foothold in implementing policy that will move us forward as a nation. However, the conservative leaning democrats seem to consistently sell out the working class by not fighting hard enough against the idiocy of the Republicans. I do think the country would be much better off if the republican party did not exist, but I believe we would still have right leaning democrats take the mantle of dog whistles and policy that undermines the ability of the working class to sustain a better overall quality of life. As a black person, I understand my bias in this instance and do not believe democrats have done enough policy wise to prove they truly desire to be on the right side of history. The lesser of two evils, is still evil. But I guess it being lesser counts for something 😂
