Super interesting! I think that if you stop looking at these things as entertainment and look at them as education on the human condition/psyche then there's theoretically space for "entertainment" but you must shift your perspective from mindless consumption to mindful analysis. I've been watching a lot of analysis of my favorite anime on YouTube and it's a fertile ground for learning.
I went back and watch avatar the last Airbender as an adult and WOW. The philosophy in that show was amazing. I think the issue is the mindless consumption people use to escape from the world and their own lives, rather than genuine curiosity as to what human art forms mean. Some entertainment is MOST definitely trivial but just like suffering is a noble truth because it is an opportunity for healing and insight, I think turning an analyzing mind on these things can reveal profound insight about the state of humanity.
